These addons are MUST HAVES if you're going to raid with MA or in general in WoW. They are meant to make the raid experience easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved by sharing important raid information between raid members automatically. These are not only to benefit you but the entire raid group. Please download and install them ASAP!!!

WHERE TO FIND THESE ADDONS

http://wow.curse.com/ - not always current but none the less very good site where you can find these addons:

Omen
Deadly Boss Mod
Recount
Grid
Healbot

REQUIRED ADDONS FOR EVERYONE

Omen - Threat meter - automatically estimates threat generated by analyzing skills used, talents, and damage output for individuals in the group, and posts in a real time graph interface. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL RAID ADDON!!!

Deadly Boss Mod- Modular Boss Mod - http://www.deadlybossmods.com/ - lightweight boss fight addon. Automatically detects current boss encounter and loads the appropriate mod. Essentially notifies the user of boss cooldowns, ability usage, and timers through on screen text and bars. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL RAID ADDON!!! ONLY ENABLED IN INSTANCES!!!

NOT REQUIRED BUT EXTREMELY HELPFUL ADDONS

Recount - Damage Meter - Everyone loves to see how much damage they're doing and how they compare to everyone else. This does that and more, damage taken, healing done, dps, hps, crowd control breakers, deaths and more. VERY INFORMATIVE once you learn how to use it.

Grid - Raid Group UI - turns the raid party frame into a grid for on screen space savings but still allows for easy point and click targeting of raid members.

Healbot - Healing Interface Mod - if you're an OK healer, this will make you good, if you're a great healer this will make you a phenomenal healer, if you're already phenomenal you will be a god amongst mortals. Addon that lets you bind heals, dispels, buffs, etc to mouse/button clicks and combinations and apply them to party members quickly and easily. Takes some getting used to.

That covers it for essential raid addons. Others are helpful but these are by far the most important.

You didn't include Fishing Buddy. Really useful when you're sitting around in front of Kara waiting for everyone to show up. Razz

Good list, Gambatte. Matches what I use. (Although I haven't used Recount.)

Omen is the big one here although in the next patch we get an "Aggro Warning" pop up when we lose aggro or are about to gain it.

People have been after Blizzard for a long time to add an aggro meter or warning because there are so many variations out there that then entire raid may not have the same version and wipe repeatedly. The good news is that this is one step closer to lowering the number of add ons you need to raid, the bad news is that this is a year later than it should have been.

On a side note, autobar is nice as well. I have used it for a while and it cleans up my bars of items like food and water and potions and creates drop down (or up) menu style design that makes life a little easier. I am considering dropping most of my bar add ons though in an effort to clean up my screen.

Hey I am looking for an equipment compare addon...is this included in bigwigs? I had one before but I think it was in with another addon. Any ideas or suggestions?

You mean something that shows what you're wearing and what you're mousing over, side by side?

I have that, but I'm not sure which addon is providing it. I just hold shift when I mouse over something and it shows the equivalent item that I'm wearing in an adjacent tooltip.

An addon that I've found indispensable is Altoholic. I've got a zillion alts, and this lets me see who has what, including complete recipe lists. For example, I can link my enchanting book even when I'm not logged in on my enchanter. And while on my Alliance toon on one server, I can look at and link my Horde possessions on another realm. It knows the contents of my mail everywhere, and warns me of mail about to expire. It can also "push" data to other users, which is handy if you have multiple accounts. Just launch two copies of WoW on different accounts and use one to send your data to the other.

Now that the heroics are going fairly regularly this thread needs another look by everyone.

OMEN is definitely required for threat management.

I found out the hard way that Eeyore's tank isn't running this and I got smashed by a boss a few nights back by pulling aggro off of him. Everyone please load this mod.

the DBM boss mods are also very handy as you get warnings that the boss special abilities are coming/cooling down etc.

Updated the raid addon list for ya DH. To everyone that THINKS they personally don't need Omen or Deadly Boss Mod, I don't care who you are, what you're doing, what kind of dps/healing/tanking you're pumping out. YOU MUST HAVE Omen and Deadly Boss Mod ADDONS!!! They are not necessarily for you but, as I stated in the original post, for the BENEFIT of the group.

Anyone use both DBM and the Ace equivalent, BigWigs? I'm curious to know how they compare. (I've used BigWigs in the past but hadn't reloaded it recently after all the recent big patches.)

I agree, Omen is imperative. It's even useful at low levels, so you can learn how much threat you're producing compared to other classes (and to your combat pets). Damage meters are far less important. Damage is what you look at after the fight, using the online combat log analyzer. Threat is something you need to know during the fight.

I've used both BigWigs and DBM, both are good raid warning devices and they essentially do the same thing. However, what i've found is that DBM is updated faster and better when patches occur, and is more commonly used by raiding guilds. That's why I dropped BigWigs from the list.
